About me

I began employment as a Probation Officer in Hull in 1981 and have held a variety of positions with the local community and prisons. As the current Head of Hull and East Riding Probation Services, I am responsible for the management of all Community Sentences imposed by the Courts and Licences for those persons released into the community from Prison managing over 2,400 orders and licences in our local communities across Hull and East Riding. The Probation Service also provides independent advice to the judiciary regarding potential sentencing options that could result in a reduction in reoffending and protection of the public. In addition, the Probation Service provides a Victim Contact Service providing updates regrading an offenders progress through their sentence to victims in eligible cases.

I also Chair the Humberside wide Multi-Agency Strategic Management Board (MAPPA) which manages those individuals who present the most serious risk of harm to our local community for example violent and sexual offenders.

I am also Vice Chair of the Hull Community Safety Partnership, joint Chair of the Hull Contextualised Safeguarding Strategic Board and member of the Adult Safeguarding Board and Better Together Partnership.
