Families First Partnership
What’s new in Hull?
We are introducing three key changes to improve support for families across the city -
1. Family help
Support begins early. We bring together professionals from across services to offer coordinated help before problems grow.
In Hull, this means -
- a lead practitioner to coordinate support
- clear assessments tailored to family needs
- straightforward pathways to access services
2. Multi-agency child protection teams (MACPTs)
MCAPTs are dedicated local teams that consist of professionals from -
- health
- education
- social care
- the police
Each Hull MACPT will -
- have a dedicated child protection lead
- respond quickly to local safeguarding concerns
- provide wrap around support for parents, carers and families.
3. Family group decision making (FGDM)
Known locally as family group conferencing, this approach empowers families to take an active role in planning for their children.
We support Hull families to -
- make decisions together
- build their own support networks
- find solutions that work for them
