What happens after submission

  1. The information is securely received by police intelligence teams.
  2. The submission is reviewed and assessed.
  3. Intelligence may be -
    • Recorded
    • Developed further
    • Linked with existing intelligence
    • Used to support operational activity
  4. Where appropriate, information may contribute to investigations, disruption activity, prevention work, or safeguarding responses.

Please note that not all intelligence submissions will result in direct feedback being provided to the submitting organisation.

Before you submit

Before completing the form, please ensure that -

  • The information is accurate and relevant.
  • You have included names, dates, locations, and descriptions wherever possible.
  • The information can be shared lawfully under your organisation's information-sharing arrangements.
  • You have provided factual information and avoided assumptions or opinion.
  • You are using the current version of the form.

Do Not Use the CPIF For -

  • Emergencies
    • Call 999
  • Reporting Crimes
    • Contact Humberside Police via 101 or the online reporting portal
  • Safeguarding Referrals
    • Follow established safeguarding pathways and referral procedures

Information Sharing and Confidentiality

Information submitted through the CPIF is processed securely and in accordance with relevant legislation, information-sharing agreements, and data protection requirements.

The CPIF supports lawful information sharing between partners to help prevent crime, reduce vulnerability, protect communities, and safeguard individuals at risk of harm.

Partners should ensure that any information shared is necessary, proportionate, relevant, and compliant with their own organisational information governance arrangements.
